バットマン (1989) 

Batman 1 is a classic that ranks right up there with the Nolan Batmans no matter how great they are. They're like the Thomas Wayne of the Batman series. Their intention is the whole appeal. Here we had a guy who did Pee Wee's Playhouse and Beetlejuice and actually gave us a decent action movie. Jack Nicholson gets all the goods and praise and girls and cars and cig-ars. But that make-up was Burton's idea. The idea to cast Nicholson was his idea. There is no movie like that Batman film before. None. Nobody nobody nobody ever thought to juxtapose a childrens tv show villian with a very serious and depressed hero. Burton Burton Burton what the hell happened to you. You know I almost went to Hollywood to embarrass myself because of you, Burton? Nicholson was inspirational. And your idea. The same guy who made us laugh our butts off at just LOOKING at Pee Wee's kitchen. That's how he made his debut. He's worth his 10 million no matter how bad he screws up Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and whatever else he makes that sucks.
