June of 2020 is a sad 月 for バットマン months. First, Dennis O'Neil passes away and now, Joel Schumacher has passed away, as well. Joel Schumacher was the director of two バットマン films. He directed 1995's バットマン Forever and 1997's バットマン and Robin. After バットマン and Robin came out, it became common to mock Joel Schumacher and make fun of him. I believe he didn't get the respect he deserved and I'd like to take a moment to reflect on what made Joel Schumacher a good director.
Believe it または not, Tim バートン wasn't a ファン of comics. Although he did like バットマン and the Joker, he wasn't a superhero expert. He still managed to make two amazing バットマン films, but he was an unconventional choice. Joel Schumacher is a different story. He had grown up being a big ファン of the バットマン comics, similar to how Adam West grew up 読書 バットマン comics. Joel loved バットマン and when Warner Bros. decided they didn't want Tim バートン to direct a third バットマン film, they went to Joel Schumacher. Joel was thrilled to be 与えられた the job. A lot of バットマン ファン seem to act like it's Joel's fault, that his two バットマン films are so lighthearted and comedic. However, the blame deserves to go to Warner Bros. Tim Burton's 秒 バットマン film, バットマン Returns, got good reviews, but caused controversy for being too inappropriate for Batman's younger fans. バットマン Returns had a toy-line at McDonald's and parents were upset about a highly-adult film being promoted as a film that kids could watch.
Joel Schumacher actually wanted to make a serious adaptation of Frank Miller's Batman: 年 One comic. However, Warner Bros. wanted a lighter, もっと見る kid-friendly version of Batman, in order to make もっと見る money and avoid causing controversy with parents. Joel did what the studio wanted him to do, によって directing バットマン Forever. Joel purposely made a もっと見る colorful and lighthearted バットマン film. The gothic, menacing villains of the Tim バートン films were replaced with Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face and Jim Carrey's Riddler, who were very playful and silly. Tim Burton's murderous バットマン was replaced with a もっと見る traditional and heroic Batman, who convinces Robin to not kill Two-Face.
Although バットマン Forever didn't get good reviews, it made a lot of money. It had one of the biggest opening-weekends and Batman's younger ファン seemed to enjoy the film. Due to バットマン Forever's success, Joel got to direct a 秒 バットマン film, which was called バットマン and Robin. Once again, Joel had a もっと見る upbeat and comedic バットマン film. In fact, バットマン and Robin is typically considered to be goofier and もっと見る kid-friendly than バットマン Forever. The villains became obsessed with puns, バットマン had a bat credit-card, Robin got his own signal in the sky, Bane became a simple-minded henchman and Mr. Freeze enjoyed 歌う songs from Christmas-themed cartoons. In other words, it was a campy film.
バットマン and Robin wasn't a money-making hit, which led to バットマン not having another live-action for over five years. Also, the film got terrible reviews. バットマン and Robin was considered to be the worst バットマン film and it's often considered to be one of the worst films, in general. Because of this, バットマン ファン and movie-critics gave Joel a hard time, for the 次 two decades. They acted like Joel ruined the franchise and some people jokingly called Joel the most evil バットマン villain.
An important thing, that the critics and ファン seemed to not be aware of, was that Joel Schumacher was a great person. He was kind, easygoing, respectful and almost-always had nice things to say about the people he worked with (Val Kilmer and Tommy Lee Jones both gave the crew a hard time, while making バットマン Forever, so Joel, understandably, didn't get along with them). Joel has been very patient and calm, despite all the mean things people 発言しました about him. He even apologized for making バットマン and Robin and apologized to バットマン fans, for making a film they didn't like. It was never Joel's intention, to make films that the ファン didn't like. He was just a hardworking and friendly guy, who had to deal with Warner Bros. pressuring him to make marketable バットマン films.
I've long thought that Joel and his バットマン films didn't get the respect they deserve. I'm not going to pretend that バットマン Forever and バットマン and Robin are the best バットマン films. However, they both have several elements I enjoy. Both films have a very unique and lovely-looking sense of style. Joel did a great job, when it came to directing the action scenes. In addition to that, both films are very entertaining blockbusters. バットマン Forever had the scene-stealing antics of Jim Carrey's Riddler, along with a wild Two-Face. バットマン and Robin has the delightful duo of Arnold Schwarzenegger's pun-loving Mr. Freeze and Uma Thurman's eloquent Poison Ivy. I often enjoy re-watching the films.
A lot of modern versions of バットマン have バットマン act out-of-character, によって being an anti-social jerk and a murderer. Joel's バットマン films have a Batman, who actually respects the people around him and saves people. Instead of killing Mr. Freeze, バットマン reasons with him and helps Mr. Freeze save his wife. Joel's バットマン is an actual hero, unlike some other versions of Batman.
Overall, I believe Joel Schumacher was a good director and most importantly, a really kind person. Even if バットマン ファン don't like his films, I believe they should respect what a kind and fair person he was. Joel's バットマン films played a big part in my childhood (I still have some バットマン and Robin stickers on the 机, デスク I'm currently using.) Thank you, Joel, for all that あなた did for Batman. I miss you, already, but I don't plan on forgetting you. Rest well, old chum.

バットマン is a very dark character who I believe could be a very good character for an r rated film his Villians are violent they kill people in gruesome ways and Bruce also needs to be fucking his 愛 interests and he hasn't done it yet why because it isn't appropriate for kids and that's really stupid and as for the cursing I wouldn't want them to do it every 秒 obviously but it would be good and make the characters もっと見る serious and badass if the characters cursed inn the バットマン reboot happens I want new Villians, the bat mobile, batarangs, the batwing, the bat motorcycles,a bat jet pack,a different type of サワー for batman, the bat claw that batman, and swings on I want it to be rated R. So what do あなた guys think should a future バットマン movie have these things または not.
After バットマン & Robin, the franchise got ruined. Back in 1998 this were the rumors for バットマン 5 (Triumphant)
The villains were Scarecrow played によって Kevin Spacey または Jeff Goldblum, and Harley Quinn played によって Mira Sorvino または Madonna.
And wait there's more; for the role of Batman:
David Duchovny, Kurt Russel, John Travolta, Brendan Fraser and Mel freaking Gibson!
I’m not kidding those were the rumors back then!!!
I found the 記事 in an old magazine. And i laughed so hard
So 次 time あなた read some rumors like Eddie Murphy as the Riddler. Don’t get upset.

Sorry everybody. I don't mean to wise guy. I just feel like venting somewhere about stuff that doesn't matter. Just to keep my fingers typing.
Are あなた serious?
The WB learns of Heath Ledger's death and thinks there's not a ゴールド mine there? That shows あなた how sickly out of touch the WB is with the American pop culture ファン and explains a myriad of other stupid ideas and decisions they've formulated over the past eighteen years like say, every single one. This is not some kind of class organization that swears to only make their loads of literary blood money through eco-friendly community-safe endeavors. They simply DIDN'T CALCULATE that Heath Ledger's death would be something Americans cared about. This means the WB is the dumbest of the heartest bureaucrats. Look at what they've done now that they've gotten the heads up that Ledger's death in fact DOES attract interest in Dark Knight. They'll build an IMAX screen into the Epcot Center if they could.

I must admit -- as one of Dark Knight's biggest ファン I'm surprised so many people like it. I am. This should only be something me and a few people obsess about. I've always been amazed and skeptical that people would turn バットマン into a movie, even the Michael Keaton one. Yeah it's huge and 人気 and old but...Batman in the comics is the only way to really see why he qualifies as an action character. Six frames in different juxtaposed locations when he's fighting ninjas and gangsters and stuff. What あなた do is look at each frame one によって one. In your head あなた don't just have バットマン -- あなた have a kung-fu movie. On screen the fighting simply doesn't look that good once you've seen him in this format. Oh nothing on Earth can compare with バットマン whether on screen または not, but I'm suprised so many people didn't say "what the f? this isn't exciting" whenever he fought. AM I OUT OF MY MIND SAYING THAT?
