ellarose88 I was discussing this with Melly on Tumblr and this episode gave me so many feelings, but most of all criticism at the producers. Why did it take 10 or so episodes for us to get this much plot for Mordred? It is a total disservice to Alex and his character. He deserves better than this, but then most of them do.

LadyKnighton Okay episode! I didn't like Kara at allll!! Gwen was lovely and supportive!! Arthur's speech to Kara about how those with magic have done this too themselves made me so happy!! Mordred was heart-breaking :(

EPaws Millie we are in agreement and Kara was a bitch and a half and not worthy of life. She let hate take her over completely. Unfortunately Mordred was still wearing rose coloured glasses when it came to who she had become.

kbrand5333 Alex and Bradley fantastic agreed. What sticks in my craw is this: HOW STUPID IS MORDRED? Seriously. He heard her non-repentant confession. Her hateful words. He SAW her kill one of his comrades, for Pete's sake. She was yelling at him telepathically to kill his friends. Not just yelling. Screeching like a freaking harpy. Open your damn eyes, man, the girl is not the same person you once knew. The last two episodes look very dramatic indeed. I think that's all I have to say.

faithlessducks Can you imagine if Morgana had Gwen giving advice to arthur, instead of trying to kill him. Evil gwen could have ran Camelot. Men in love are powerless to their beloved. The bookends that run/ran this show wasted "evil" Gwen for the same been there done that killing Arthur plot. Just like Kara with her magic over Morded. One question... where are Arthur's allies? He faces Morgana alone? I'm sorry Morgana was a two bit witch in the legends. They really made her more then she is/was!

buzzy31bee i love Mordred and Cara, they are such a sweet couple. i thought Merlin was really careless in this episode. i mean what do you thinks going to happen if you tell the king that his prisoner and one of his knights has escaped. especially considering he knows Arthur's fait. really very careless on Merlin's point of view. loved the episode though!

MISAforever Mordred is a complex chracter and I LOVE it!!! Though he maybe should have acknowledge that evil side of her that he had seen, I understood him. Love makes you blind. And finally Morgana knows!! After all this time, finally!!!!! Now I have a glimpse of hope Arthur will find out as well! Kudos to Bradley and Alex, these two were brilliant!!! Arthur was acting what he thought was fair, and I think that he did nothing wrong. Karma is a bitch though. I don't think anything he did would change things. Gwen in the background as usual -- disappointing! I really hope the finale will be a match to this one. With more Gwen and Arwen!

sportyshuie Finally managed to view the episode after endless searching .. AND ... I LOVE IT! Yes, like stacey put in earlier, this is what we expected and if they had given this earlier on, it would have saved all the cursing, swearing and hating. Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk let's just hope the remaining two episodes will top this. This episode belongs to three good looking and brilliant actors; colin, alex and bradley. They nailed their characters well, inviting us to feel the complexity of their actions as well as hating and loving their moments on screen. None outdid the other and the mix was good to set up the exciting finale we've been promised. Merlin is on fence here. His loyalthy to Arthur made him protective; which explains some of the actions which some tend to think careless or even dumb (they mentioned it on YT). But i dont think so. He knew the prophecy and been burdened by it, yet he tried his best to help kara and mordred. It's not his fault that mordred chose to change his ally. Arthur had the toughest role in the episode. I really felt for him because he made the toughest decision without knowing he sealed his own fate. Yet, i can't bring to blame him because he too tried. Some arse in YT been calling Arthur an idiot for the judgement he passed on Kara but didnt she seal her own fate? Had it been Uther, Kara wouldn't have the option of spending a day in the cell! Arthur made it clear that the sentence isnt for sorcery but murder, so why call him an idiot? And apart from Kara, Arthur had to deal with his loyal knight who was in love and clouded by it. Arthur understands because he married out of love, and he gave the girl a chance because of the knight's bond with Mordred but that wasn't enough. But the judgement is fair. Because she murdered innocent lives and justice must be served so Arthur did what any fair and true king would do. Mordred is such darling and a nuisance at the same time. And it was good for the character and the episode. He had my sympathy one minute and i was swearing at him the next. Love is truly a powerful enchantment for it was his love for Kara that made him lose his intelligence to see beyond his actions. He heard her confessions, didnt approve her killings, refused to use magic when she telephatically instructed him so yet he jumped into conclusion immediately. I wonder what he learned of Arthur all the while he stayed in Camelot? If he thinks he can change his ally because of a love he lost, what about Merlin who lost his love, his friends, his trusted followers etc. Merlin lost more people in his life than Mordred did and yet Merlin still believes in Arthur. Mordred allowed himself to be toyed by both Morgana and Kara. He allowed himself to be used. If only he had seeked Merlin's advice from the beginning of series, he would have laid his life for Arthur, not take it. I hate Kara! She is one stupid, stupid girl. (i'm sorry if i've offended kara shippers). She admitted her guilt, not afraid to die and swore to do it again if let free and yet when Mordred confronts her, she questions if Arthur would show mercy on her? Come on girl, who do you think you are? And when given second chance, she screws up. What irks me is, she claims to do this for the sake of a free world for the druids. So it's ok to kill innocent people as long as druids can live freely! I was happy with her sentence. She deserves to go and rot in hell! My favourite scene, the final revelation of Merlin. The look on Morgana's face when Mordred reveals Merlin's identity is priceless!! I was clapping and reviewed the scene numerous time. I just liked the way she stared at Mordred, mouth slightly gaping, fingers clenching the seat she's one, anger and frustration creeping up her face, threatening to snap her. She is angry ... very angry. And what's worse, she's been toyed by a servant boy!!! YES!!! I love the episode and i really love the reveal in the end. Looking forward to next ... goodnight and good day everyone,

lailastar Just watched the show and I agree wwith all, that the acting was brilliant, especially Bradley.On that note can someone explain to me how Merlin the most powerful sorcerer, whose praises we have heard for the past five years loses his power in next week's episode.After fives years Merlin should be at the top of his game, he should sense foul play a mile away so how did he allow Morgana and Mordred to steal his powers.At this stage these mishaps should not be happening anymore. This is why I have issues with TPTB.This makes Morgana appears more powerful than Emrys and we all know she isn't. So give Merlin some kick ass powers already, we have waited long enough.

sportyshuie Agree ^ ... Merlin is the most powerful sorcerer, wizard in the whole world ... the greatest and born for a reason. That's what every druid, cathar, priest/priestess whom we met along the entire series kept informing us. But when it comes to power growth, it's Morgana's that we actually witness not Merlins. And that's unacceptable. But patience is a virtue. We have waited this long and i think i can still go on for another week. If they indeed plan something epic for Merlin then i'd be satisfied but if not ... And talking about the druids ... if indeed the druids are aware of Merlin's birth, his powers and destiny how come Kara doesnt know him? And why are they backing Morgana whom they are not aware of until now rather than Merlin who is their kind. And how come Morgana seems to buy their trust easily? And where are those who trusts Merlin and willing to help him? He needs all the help in the world at the final battle but where are they? Morgana doesn't seem to have that problem though ...

Bonne-Bell Well it is sometimes said that heros are only as good as their villains. If Morgana is shown as being significantly weaker than Merlin, then he's not going to have a proper challenge and he's not really going to get to show us that he is in fact the greatest sorcerer in all of Albion. It's one thing for the Druids to say it but seeing is believing so I think they're bascially going to stack all the decks against him and then have him rise above it in order to defeat Morgana. Also Merlin isn't going to be alone. Balinor is in next week's episode so I think he's probably going to be brought back from the dead to help him.

ellarose88 Oh I forgot that Balinor appears this week! I can't wait for that. As to Merlin losing his powers, I'm sure once he gets them back he will bring Morgana and Mordred to their knees.

HumbleQueen Oh yes. Is that next week for Balinor? Now as I mentioned elsewhere some are concerned that Morgana could use him as a shade as she did Lancelot, but I certainly hope they don't go that route. It would be so cool to see Balinor and Merlin. Of course, Merlin will get his powers back. There is no way in tarnation that they would end the show without Merlin rising to the occasion over Morgana. Morgana has to go. She HAS to die and Merlin has to do it. Even if Arthur dies, I'll be satisfied if Merlin finally gets rid of her once and for all.

Bonne-Bell They keep talking about Merlin being her doom so he better get to fulfill that part of his destiny. Can't wait. *Evil laugh*. Also Morgana never knew about Balinor and neither did Mordred so I doubt that she's going to be using him as a shade. I wish Freya would make an appearance too but I haven't heard any word of that happening so I doubt it.

HumbleQueen Oh, right. Good then. Morgana didn't know about that and there's no one to tell her as only Gaius and Merlin knew who he was, I think.

lailastar It would have been nice, like some shows at the end of their last season bring back some of their old cast to tie up the show. The same would have worked for Merlin, if TPTB had brought back all the magic folks that have given their lives for this cause, to help Arthur and Merlin fight Morgana at the end. Especially the ones she has killed. Nice to see her haunted by the dead Even the Druids that are on Merlin's side and the fairies could help, after all this war is all about magic, I think everyone should be helping Merlin and Arthur put and end to Morgana
