EPaws There were two writers that I just could not resist in particular who I just had to call it and send them a pm, just as a point of 'accuracy' duty. It was too funny and I thought, no, no one could be that, how do I put this in a pc way, out of it. Pretty much the kids looked like Elyan LMAO! Not biologically possible lol! Not at all and they were boys, even furthing the biological impossibility of the y chromosome lol, much less the x factor.

EpicArwen Hmmm...I actually think they could have a blonde kid. I'm no expert by any means, but it seems to me that it would be the same as a bi-racial child having blue/green/light eyes, which is recessive to dark eyes and I've seen that tons of times. From what I understand, each gene is made of 2 alleles (one from mom, one from dad). The blonde trait is always recessive to the dark hair trait. Since Arthur is blonde that means he has 2 blonde alleles, one of which he'll pass on to his kid. Gwen would be the wild card because we don't know anything about her mom or her dad for that matter. He could have been mixed as well? Anyway, if Gwen has a blonde allele that she inherited from her mom and a dark one, the dark one would dominate for her. But if she passes the blonde on to their child, the the baby would have 2 blonde alleles, which would then most likely translate into blonde hair like Arthur. Again...no expert. And I realize that I've waaaaay oversimplified the whole genetics thing. I mean, people literally spend their entire lives studying this stuff. In then end, it's such a mixed bag, really. (No pun intended). I totally see Stacey's point about a black baby not being a possibility though because that would mean Arthur would have to have that trait to pass on to the child and he clearly had 2 caucasian parents so... Ya'll feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember it being so fascinating to me back in school, so I actually paid some attention! LOL!

kbrand5333 It's a tricky thing. I have dark hair and brown eyes, things I always learned were dominant. My husband has blonde hair and blue eyes. No one in my bloodline is blonde. My son has blonde hair and blue eyes. Go figure. The eyes I can sort of figure out, because my dad has green eyes, but the blonde part? Who the hell knows. My mother is a redhead, though, so maybe that contributed... I'm no expert either, nor do I pretend to be. All I know is that A&G's kids would look very much like the little cherub pictured above. That, and there is NO freakin' way that she and Elyan are full brother and sister, if we're being technical. ;)

EPaws Stacey is right because her whole family is a lovely international smorgesbord lol. You could not get more Arian than my husband in physicality, my father is English, my mother is Caribbean. My son, well the going joke in the family is my father and my husband decided to have a baby. My youngest sister, the same damn thing, her husband is German, guess what...yeah, same thing. Clearly, my mother's genes have no ambition, or her multi-cultural traits prevailed lol! And so it goes. The really fun thing is, if Ian marries an island girl and warms up the skin tones again in later life, it should be a laugh riot,cause thankfully he has all sets of genes. And so it goes. There is a reason the phrase, out of many one people, exists in the Caribbean. Also proof that race is a moving target and also racism is well, stupid. People are people. Now all we need now is a North American Indian and we can start our own United Nations. There is still hope for some browns at least in my immediate family in my middle sister who is going out with a gorgeous chocolate man she met in medical school, who thinks he is a rasta lol. Crossing fingers that she will "keep hope alive" lol. Daddy hates him of course, he doesn't know one end of a golf club from another and all men are to be judged in this way. LMAO!

EPaws As to Guinevere and Arthur based on genes. Child, if male more than likely will have the majority of his features, she might have a vague fighting chance with the hair with a predisposition to curl, but the hair and skin will be fair and bone structure his. It just is.

HumbleQueen EA, I used to know more about the recessive and dominant gene thing from my psych class and now I forget it all. Like you, I thought it fascinating. Interesting about your kids, Kim. I know lots of biracial kids and have seen loads of combos. Usually beautiful I may add. kbrand5333 To further stir the pot, my brunette sister (with hazel eyes) is ALSO married to a blonde/blue, she has one daughter who is her copy, except with blue eyes, and another daughter who is her husband's copy -- blonde/blue. It's funny; mini-mes are popular in my family. I am my mother's, actually. (And I only have one kid, Nanna. :) And he is my husband's mini-me).
