and before i get a "both/depends" comments of course it does depend on the quality of writing but i prefer usually larger casts for more diversity of characters and more chances to find characters i love/get attached (small could probably be defined x <6)

The only problem with large casts is in shows like Naruto Shippuden they don't pay attention to most of the main characters.
