There is a law that passed last 年 that 発言しました that it would be illegal to buy, sell, または own "bad" マンガ after 2011. Like with violence and sex and other innapropriate content. I think that やおい fell under the category of innapropriate as well. But I'm not entirely sure what became of that plan.
