Should I say to my フレンズ that I'm watchin ANIME?

I've never 発言しました to my フレンズ that I'm watchin アニメ because they're sayin it's just crap.
for example one of my フレンズ say that ポケモン is just crap, he is drawin and makin fun of it all the time.
I watched Digimon one time when an anoter friend of mine came in to my room, we should do homework together at my house then digimon was on and he asked me if I watched it, but I said: just when I'm bored...
I 発言しました it to him so he would'nt begin laugthin of me.
